Update:  Penny is one lucky girl.  Her family decided to keep her afterall!  We wish them all the best!

Penelope (“Penny”) is an indoor short-haired female tabby cat, approximately 3.5 years old. She is brown with dark brown/black stripes, brown spots on her belly, and pretty green eyes. She was found hiding under a car as a young stray kitten by her current owners.

Penny is very calm, good-natured, adaptable and easy-going! She's not shy - she's friendly and she'll warm up to new people very quickly! Her current owners travel a lot so they have placed her at friends’ and neighbors’ houses and she has always adjusted well.  She has NEVER had any accidents outside of her litter box, even when it gets moved around!

Most afternoons you can find her snoozing in her favorite spot - right by the window in her cozy cat bed. Penny doesn’t require a lot of attention, but she’ll let you know when she'd like to be petted or scratched behind her ears. Sometimes, she’ll even come over for a lap snuggle, but affection is only on her terms! She doesn’t like being picked up, but she does really enjoy getting brushed!

Penny has a funny little personality! Sometimes if you meow at her, she will meow back! She is curious and likes to play with her cat toys and any little things on the floor. She also likes to hide in cupboards, under the couch, and other small spaces.

Penny is also good with children! She currently lives with a tiny human who she lets chase her around, but she's not very friendly to other pets.

Penny doesn’t have many bad habits. She likes to jump on the countertop, but her current owners use the "PetSafe SSSCat Deterrent" (from Amazon) in order to keep her out of trouble. She has a scratch pad that she uses for her claws.

Sadly, her current owners must now find her a new home. After the tiny human arrived, Penny hasn’t been getting the love, attention, or playtime she deserves.  Her current owners will also be moving soon and won’t be able to take her along. Penny is spayed, and up-to-date with all of her vaccines and is also properly licensed in Broward County.

Please take her home and love her!!  She promises to be a good girl and love you back!

Please complete an on-line application for Penny and an adoption counselor will get back to you real soon.
