Lance, now lovingly referred to as Ace, has a wonderful home of his own with a charming young lady who would tolerate an occasional bite, and who knows, he may just not do it again! We're hoping. His new owner was kind enough to meet his foster mom in Orlando after driving down from Gainesville! We wish them many happy years together.
Lance is a big, sweet boy. He's likely part Maine coon with ear tufts and a big size. He's lanky and fit. His owners lost their home and he and his housemates were put outside; an especially dangerous place for a declawed cat. A.R.F. was asked to save this handsome guy! Lance is a playful cat. He doesn't like to be alone very much, but he can adjust to a work schedule. Lance loves people, but not other animals, so he needs to be the only pet. Unfortunately, we now know that Lance is an occasional biter. It's likely related to his declawing; a behavior not uncommon in declawed cats. We have not been able to figure out why he does this, but are guessing it's fear-related even though he appears well-adjusted. We feel if an owner will just give him more time, he'll stop, as have other biting cats we have known. We know there's a cat whisperer out there that can welcome their home for this handsome guy. Please help spread the word that we are searching for that special someone for Lance. It may be you!
