Chloe
Hi Lynn,
I wanted to touch base with you and thank you again for bringing Chloe into our family. She has been a WONDERFUL addition to our family. She is sweet and patient with all of us. Lately, she has been showing her playful side with some of the toys she got for christmas.
Our surprise for Margaret worked out perfectly. Chloe spent Christmas Eve night with my husband and I and in the early morning we put her in her cage by the christmas tree with a note from Santa. It was probably the first time she meowed, like hey let me out of here! Her cries woke Margaret up and she was beyond excited when she came running into our room. She said Santa had left her a real live kitten.
Here are a few pictures of her with Margaret. She is very loving with her, but after Margaret falls asleep she makes her good night round to all of us.
Thanks again and we would be willing to come volunteer, so please send us emails.
The Harmon Family
Ps If you could share these pictures with Linda. She is such a sweet kitten which I know comes from the home she was first raised in.
Julius
Thank you Leisa! ARF is a Godsend ... for both the family and for Julius,
our newest member! :) When we first got Julius home, we thought, "what a
strange cat: he doesn't nap at all during the day; he 'ducks' when we try
to pet him; he has an eye injury that went untreated by previous owners;
his 'meower' is broken (and he only makes small sounds); he NEVER goes on the
counters or tables?? and he doesn't have the spirit to challenge or be
challenged by our previous rescue, Fletcher. NOW, we know his odd behavior
was that of an abused animal. He is now fully spirited and naps most of the
day as most kitties do--since he has nothing to fear. :) It took a few
months for him to come around, but he and Fletcher now spar, swat, and even
love one another. He's on the counters and tables all the time, and doesn't
listen at all when we ask him to behave. :) He and Fletcher are pals and
look out for one another... pretty cool!!! Julius' tattoo is a constant
reminder that we might never have had the opportunity to enrich one
another's lives. We adore him and are so blessed to have come together with Leisa
and ARF! Thank you and God Bless
Ciara
Thank you Steffani for bringing Ciera into our lives. She is a joy to watch when she
runs from one window to another. She now has adopted us.
Nicki
Received 12/15/10
I've attached three photos of Nicki the Kitty. I adopted her on December 13 of 2006.
The first photo is what happened when I got her home. I had bags full of cat food,
litter box, etc., and a cat in a box. I let the cat out and she took a look around,
spun in a circle, and ran. I laughed. I expected it might take a while for her to
get used to her new digs, and I let her alone for a couple of hours. When I went to
see what had become of her, she was sitting in the bathtub, looking puzzled.
She looked like she was comfortable there. Eventually, I picked her up and showed
her where the food and the litter box were.
In the second picture, she has discovered cardboard boxes.
I took the third picture earlier this year. As you can see, Nicki the Kitty is doing
rather well. She still speaks with all kinds of cat words. Some of the staff may
remember that aspect of her. When I first picked her up, she looked at me and made
all manner of cat noises. I was impressed and I said out loud, "You talk."
Every once in a while, she still comes out with a new one.
Kato/Riley
Hi, we adopted Kato at the Delray Christmas kids day and wanted to thank you
for everything. We have renamed him Riley, and he is adjusting very well.
Just wanted to tell you how much we love him and happy that he is part of
our family. I am including a picture of him and my daughter (he is SOSOSO
good with the kids....loves them). I really hope his brothers get adopted
out too. I will check back to see if they do. Thanks again for everything
and Happy Holidays, Sarah Brennan Shope
