Dudley/ Jackson
My family and I have eight dogs, five cats, four horses and lots of fish. We were
fighting an awful battle with cancer with one of our ten year old rottie's. I was
sitting in the waiting room at Veterinary Specialist in West Palm Beach waiting to
hear some news from Dr. Roy (our Amazing vet). That is where I met Sandra a
wonderful volunteer for Animal Rescue Force. She had just rescued seven Dalmatian
puppies from Miami kill shelter. I had lost my fifteen year old dalmatian two years
prior. I have always had a soft spot for dalmatians. We went to visit a few days
later. They were so little still being bottle fed. We went to visit a few more
times before we were going to bring ONE home. Well, since there were two left we
had to rescue them both. My two & six year old daughters absolutely love the
"maaaations". Thank you ARF for saving so many little animals that deserve loving
families.
All the best,
The Weinberger Family

We adopted both of these kitties last week from ARF. It took about 36 hours for them to like each other but now they are bestest friends and love each other so much. Thank you, ARF, for all your support and encouragement. We didn't know we were cat people until we met you and we are so happy with our 2 kitties.
Motek
Dear Lynn:
I promised to email a few pictures of Motek (Hebrew for sweetheart).
My husband and I are thrilled to have her. She is the easiest dog we ever owned. She listened to all commends.
She comes when I call her, she sits, she fetches her toys, she is housebroken, she sleeps in our bedroom on her pillow and doesn’t disturb us the whole night.
Our cat Camille has been putting Motek in her place. Motek wants to play with her and chases her around, but Camille won’t have any of it. After 4 days together they are already walking next to each other.
We have an empty lot next to our house and she loves going out there. She runs around in huge circles and always comes back to me, making sure I watch her.
We have a large backyard and Motek learned how to use the doggy door right away. The backyard is fenced in so that she can come and go as she wishes. My housekeeper loves Motek too. My husband and I both work but Motek is hardly ever alone. I left her already for 3 hours alone and she behaves perfectly. She doesn’t damage anything in the house.
She is the perfect size too, and she is so gentle with us. My son, Boaz Man, DVM checked her out and she is in perfect health.
Another benefit, she guards the house to perfection. She barks her head off at any handyman and growls at him. She doesn’t stop till I tell her this person is OK!
Were you able to find anything out about the prior owner from the Broward Human society? Whoever trained her did a fantastic job.
We are so lucky to have been in WPB at the right time. It was meant to be. We weren’t even supposed to go to the home show. We simply joined our friends at the last minute.
Again, Thank you very much, Dena and Daniel Man
Charlie
Meet Vegas.....
My ARF name was "Charlie" but after coming home to my new forever home
my humans couldn't get me to come to any of the names they picked out for
me. I'm a very interesting dog who long ago got lost from my first human
family but still remember that going in the house is a bad thing (I've never
done this once yet...not even the smallest mistake) and walking on the leash
is fun. I'm fearless and reckless at times not to mention super lucky to
have been rescued so these new humans started calling me Vegas and something
about the ring of it appeals to me and I started answering to it right
away. So Vegas I am.
I have been with my new humans now for a week and have been spotted at City
Place, Clematis, and Flagler Drive for my morning walks. I'm super social
with other dogs but haven't learned the right way to greet them...I like to
stand straight with my tail in the air and bark at them..but once I get to
sniff the other dog I stop and go back to looking around...I might get bored
with it after I get used to all the people I get to be around and the dogs I
meet along the way.
My new humans tell me all the time how handsome I am and how quickly I learn
what not to do and what is allowed...for example, I love the couch and it
perfectly ok for me to snuggle up and watch TV with them, however, I must
sleep in my own bed at night and jumping onto the bed is not allowed. It
took me a few times of trying before I learned I cannot get up but since my
own bed is so comfy I'm okay with it.
They tell me about Winnie the Rottweiler before me and I know how much my
human mom misses this girl but I overheard her telling human dad how much
she has missed a flying fur ball greeting her when she enters the room so I
know I'm do the right things. I have a tennis ball I found lost under the
seat left there by Winnie from a beach walk many months ago and now I claim
it as my own and love it as much as Winnie did, this makes mom very happy
and once I get completely used to the busy streets and high rise living we
plan to take on the beach.
This coming Saturday I will be taking a trip to meet my new vet Dr. Jaffe
and I have been told I will be getting a hair cut.
Things are looking up...sometimes I just sit on the couch and look out onto
the balcony and think...about what my humans wonder... but then when they
call my name, I jump for joy, wiggle, wag, and come running to greet them.
This is my happy ending....

Buddy
Attached is a picture of "Buddy", adopted in February, with his new live-in
friend "Holly". Buddy moved in and adjusted to his new home very quickly.
It is amazing how quickly an adopted dog can move in and feel comfortable.
He is having a little problem accepting the cat that moved in some 4 years
ago. We thank all of you involved in finding Buddy and making us part of
the adoption family.
